It is almost new year and time has come to say good bye to year 2024 and welcome a brand new year 2025 filled with so exciting stuff. Me a being a action figure and toy collector, I decided to a recap post. Actually wanted to put up a 2024 Top 10 Action Figures but I released that I don’t have enough toys to do a fair listing. This is my list of action figures and toys that pick this year 2024 not necessarily scientific opinion by any mean. This year 2024 has been a decent year but not the best in terms of collection’s concern… That’s purely my fault, I was too busy doing other things so missed a lot of fun this year in action figure space.
I loved the Avatar movie since the first teaser came out… Been tracking the action figures by McFarlane since it was announced way back but pulled the trigger this year and fortunately found both “Jake Sully” and “Neytiri”! I am not that crazy to pick the entire series but I have target set around that AMP suit and and few other flying birds to create a diorama like display.
This Hasbro Black Series – Heavy Infantry Mandalorian came in via FB sale just on time to make it to this list. though I am not a very big Star Wars fan, but love their Troopers figure line-up and Droids. This was my long time wishlist item but dint find anything priced like crazy. This year I finally got one and was super happy for this.
Catwoman is one of my favourite female character right next Wonder Woman, this year I managed to pick one from the recent Batman movie “The Batman”. Though I was not a big fan of this movie but anyways picked this Catwoman as she will go very well with the Batman Figure that I picked few years back! Also she looks cool in Drifter Batman’s bike, which will look cool in my display and toy photography.
Lets see who from my favourite toy line… MCU! And this year I dint pick even one Marvel Legends but this unbranded Iron Man Mark 85 from the movie Avengers: End Game! I am a sucker for Iron Man and I pick anything that says Iron Man and this year this beauty came in all the way from Chennai(nearby city) this is not a perfect figure but at just INR.600 this is a steal, also I try and fix the imperfections making it a good project figure, which I will enjoy.
Fairly new line is the One Piece figures!! In recent times, our local toy market is flooded with Japanese Anime toys and I wanted to give it a shot! This year I picked not one, not two, but four as a pilot pile. These are all unbranded as I am still testing waters. I know two of them i.e. “Monkey D. Luffy” and “Nami” so I decided to put these two together in a beach like backdrop and I kind of loved it.
I also picked this “Zoro” for the beautiful chair he came with and “Trafalgar D. Water” just to company Nami. Again these are unlicensed but the quality is quite commendable so no regrets here. And to be frank, I don’t even know who these guys are but I still picked them as they look cool! Overall a decent year for my collection, I got into art of diorama making and I even picked a few commission projects. I am looking forward to having a better year in 2025 in terms of collecting more. Happy New Year, have a safe one. Chao.
