Batman is one cool DC character and my childhood super hero, so I always have a soft corner for him. Though I don’t have that many Batman action figures as Iron Man (Marvel figures in general are my focus area) but still a good collection nevertheless. I pick Batman figures only if they are absolutely wonderful so this Death Metal Batman is one of them for sure. And my first McFarlane action figure, which I picked right here in India.
I did picked a matching Death Metal Batcycle along so I have a rider and his ride. Coming back to this Batman figure, this is my favourite Batman purely for his details. I saw some pics of this with the Batcycle and immediately fell in love… so the I saw this listed in Fatcat Collectibles I dint think second time and clicked buy now! This was on pre-order so I have to wait and finally it come home in September in a bulletproof packaging thanks Fatcat Collectibles for that.
The packing is quite sturdy and keeps the figurine in place! The package can take some level of abuse but mine was in mint condition so kudos to the vendor. The figurine sits in two level protection… one a normal plastic that keep the figure from rattling around and the other in the form of zip tight, which is totally unnecessary in my opinion.
Out of the packing this Batman comes into life! Yes this Death Metal Batman action figure by Mcfarlane is a looker and loaded with details in every direction you look! One of the main reason I got this is for its details and he has a plenty of it starting from his cape, spikes on his shoulders, metal buckle in his jackets, even the chains and more to list.
This batman figure don’t come with array of accessories like few other McFarlane action figures but it comes with sufficient stuff to keep it good! Yeah the package comes with a collectible card that hold some details of this batman and also a DC branded display base to keep him put. This base is sleek and holds this action figure snug.
As mentioned earlier, this Batman is loaded with details but what stands out for me attention to details… The jacket is finished in shiny black and replicates leather in some ways. The inner bat suit stands out too as it comes in grey. His armour is also very detailed with paint finish next to none at this price point!
He also comes with a cool scythe, which has brown handle finished in grains and the main blade with some scuffs and markings! It also has that bat silhouette in some ways. Even the rear is filled with leather like detailing and I personally like the split, which allows you to put him in his Batcycle!
I don’t have that many Mcfarlane in my collection but for size comparison I picked a rather big guy… Marcus Fenix! I picked this Marcus Fenix (unboxing here) way back in 2017 in Gamestop, though he is also a 7inch figure, he look far bigger when pegged right next to this Death Metal Batman.
I wanted this batman figure to be displayed along with the Batcycle (unboxing here in my other blog) so I got that too! Pegged right next to this Batcycle, this Batman figure looks super awesome! Though this is a unboxing and first look, I went into some deep details (I guess) so this wait for the full review! Till then… Take Care!
